YOU SHIP US YOUR OLDER MODEL, AND WE REPLACE THE INTERNAL PCB (Printed Circuit Board).
ALSO:
Obtain a Custom LED color (other than Blue) - as of 5/31/25, Blue will be standard on all units; but a client may choose this $100 Upgrade Option while purchasing a new unit in order to obtain an LED in Red, Green, Yellow or White.
PRICING NOTE: All Upgrades to models will incur a USD $60 bench charge in addition to the Upgrade cost. Prices will be adjusted to include this going forward as of 6/1/2025.

YOU MAIL US YOUR OLD UNIT, WE REMOVE THE INTERNAL PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD, AND REPLACE THE PCB WITH A NEW UNIT. YOUR CHASSIS IS RE-USED, AS WELL AS YOUR REAR PANEL INPUT/OUTPUT JACKS. We will strive to duplicate your existing LED configuration to the extent possible. Therefore the update is the level of electrical and sonic performance OF the higher model but with your existing configuration. (Changes to configuration such as upgrading of jacks can be done at the same time as the PCB exchange, for additional cost).
Turnaround time expected: 2 to 4 weeks and is not guaranteed.
UPGRADES: Pricing in $USD as of 1/19/24. You pay to ship the existing to us; Return shipping TO you is not included but is not excessive at flat USD + $20 for domestic USA clients, and we include new factory box packaging if needed.
FRONT PANELS: We sell you the front panel (presumably, a different color than the one you currently have) and you install it yourself, with our directions and an included hex key (and your own Philips screwdriver).
Pre ~July 2021 models will receive a new silk-screened front panel at no cost (if not already updated). If your rear panel is not silk-screened, we will re-use what is there, although, depending upon condition, we may update it, at our discretion, and with no obligation. A new silk-screened rear panel is available for extra cost. A new model number and serial number will be assigned to your ‘newly refreshed’ unit. Note: Upgrades from MM-5->MM5A and MM6->MM6B are not offered by DLabs. New MM5A only available on eBay, not on our website.
